Willie Belmonte, while relatively new to the sport, has been in athletics his whole life. He began playing sports at 5. He spent years playing football, basketball, and baseball. With most of his sports focus on football, Willie played from pee wee all the way up to semi-pro. Remembering watching the original UFC with his step father at a young age, he was just content to be a fan of MMA until a friend asked how he thought he9;d fare in the sport. Looking at this as a new challenge in competitive sport, Willie began training in the summer of 2009. r>With the support of good friends and family, Willie hopes to continue to better himself as a mixed martial artist and aspires to go pro. <br> His favorite fighters include BJ Penn, Wanderlei Silva, Antonio Minotauro Nogueira, Bas Rutten, Jose Aldo, Ben Henderson, George Sotiropolous, and Dan Henderson.
